Selina Bruns is a postdoctoral researcher focusing on sustainable economic growth of smallholder farmers in remote rural regions of the Global South. In particular, she focuses on the behavioral dimension of smallholder farmers in order to understand heterogeneities in production, marketing, and consumption decisions and subsequent consequences.

Methodologically, she uses experimental methods in the field to understand preferences and decision-making processes of smallholder farmers. Furthermore, she is in investigating the suitability of established experiments for low-numeracy subject-pools.

Dr Bruns received a Ph.D. in Economics from the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at the University of Goettingen, Germany. She holds a M.Sc. in Sustainable International Agriculture from the University of Goettingen and a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Cologne, Germany.
